What is the meaning of PTSD?

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that can develop as a result of a stressful event. PTSD, often known as "shell shock" or "war weariness," affects one out of every 10 people on the earth and is more common in women.

Anyone who has been in a car accident, had a physical attack, lost a loved one abruptly, or been in a battle can get this stress illness. The victim of this sickness is afraid and anxious all of the time, as well as helpless and depressed.
